Women emancipation poster

Women emancipation poster
This poster was created to reflect on women's position worldwide throughout the years. I wanted to show the difference between women's emancipation from the first wave of feminism period till nowadays.
Inspo
I was inspired by the works of a Czech illustrator Alphonse Mucha, whose artworks were important both for the art industry and feminist movement. Mucha’s posters can be interpreted as clones that “represent the destruction of the natural order” through the amplification and distortion of parts of modernity. The female subjects are dehumanized, their existence inseparable from the medium of the poster and its reproducible nature.
The poster shows a famous Lofi girl character, the girl from YouTube who studies constantly playlists  to represent women nowadays, but also done in Alphonse Mucha's style to show that the idea of femininity and beauty of women still stays, even though the possibilities are widened.
The frame is also what creates the so-called “Byzantine effect” that Mucha was known for effectively giving a  twist to modernity without resorting to an extreme form of Orientalization.
